Loon Mountain is in the town of Lincoln, NH. We’re at exit 32 off of Route 93, at the intersection with Route 112. Lincoln and Loon are about 2.5 hours by car from Boston, straight up Route 93.
But what if you don’t have a car? You can take the bus! Concord Coach Lines leaves South Station Bus Terminal twice a day, at 8:00am and 6:15pm, (as of 1/22/17), and arrives in Lincoln about 3 hours later. To get home, the bus leaves Lincoln 7:25am and 1:30pm.
In Lincoln, we do not have Uber yet. We do have a taxi service, called the Shuttle Connection. You can reach them at 603-745-3140. During ski season, you could walk into town, about ¾ mile, and catch a ski shuttle to the ski area. Loon Mountain shuttle service is provided for various lodging properties, many in our rental program. Loon Mountain is about 5.3 miles from the bus stop.
If you fly into Logan (BOS), you can also take the bus, right from the airport. But if you fly into Manchester airport (MHT), the best bet is to rent a car. Otherwise, you need to get from the airport to the Manchester bus station first. Uber or Queen City Taxi (603-622-0008) can help with that. The bus leaves Manchester at 9:20am and arrives in Lincoln 2 hours later. If you can get yourself to Concord, a bus leaves there at 7:35pm as well.
From North Conway, Loon Mountain is a little over an hour away, across Route 112, the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. It’s a beautiful ride, but there is no bus.
Loon Mountain ski area is open 8am to 4pm, except midweek, when it opens at 9am. The ski season typically runs from Thanksgiving Day to mid-April.
In the summer, Loon is open Memorial Day to Columbus Day, usually 9am to 4pm.
