Mount Washington Cog Railway

The Mount Washington Cog Railway presents a unique rail experience, combining history and nature on its route to the Northeast’s highest peak. Since 1869, it has offered trips to the 6,288-foot summit and year-round journeys to Waumbek Station. Passengers can enjoy stunning views and cozy amenities like warming huts, a fire pit, and hot beverages, making every trip memorable.

Mount Washington Auto Road

Explore the White Mountains and reach the Northeast’s highest peak via the Mt. Washington Auto Road. This historic 7.6-mile route, created in 1861, guides you through diverse ecological zones, complete with stops at our gift shops and the Red Barn Museum. Stay at the eco-friendly Glen House Hotel, and consider a guided kayak tour or bike rental from the Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center for added adventure.

Alpine Adventures

Conway Scenic Railroad

Experience a nostalgic train journey with us. Embark on a heritage trip to either Conway or Sawyer River, and relive the charm of railway travel across Mount Washington Valley. For a more lavish adventure, our scenic Mountaineer offers a 4.5 to 5.5-hour premium tour through Crawford Notch, featuring Budd Vista Dome seats for captivating 360-degree views. This year, Conway Scenic Railroad marks its 50th anniversary, having launched our inaugural excursions in August 1974!

Granite State Scenic Railroad

Escape to a serene getaway with our 80-minute train excursion, previously known as the Hobo Railroad. Immerse yourself in the beautiful woodland scenery along the Pemigewasset River in our vintage carriages. Located just south of the White Mountains, we offer the unique Granite State Rail Bikes for a scenic pedal by the water, or the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad for stunning lake vistas.

Loon Mountain has plenty of activities to entertain all ages: bike rentals, gondola skyrides, Sunday Summit breakfast and worship, and the annual Highland Games. Loon Mountain is open Memorial Day to Columbus Day, then Thanksgiving to late April.
